PAVED is Burton’s most ambitious film in years—a snapshot of this generation’s contribution to the legacy of backcountry freestyle snowboarding. Opening with a nod to the brand’s roots, the story drops straight into Alaska, where veterans Mark McMorris and Danny Davis ride alongside all-terrain icons Mikkel Bang, Ben Ferguson, and Brock Crouch. From there, the journey expands across Japan’s deep powder, the wilds of British Columbia, Tahoe, and beyond.
At its core, PAVED is part history lesson, part hangout, part backcountry odyssey. Raw and wry, cinematic yet light-hearted, it’s packed with progression and heavy tricks—but what endures is the culture and collective spirit: this crew, these moments, and proof that style means nothing without soul.
A Burton and Red Bull Media House Co-Production directed by Ian Durkin and produced by Pirate Movie Productions, PAVED blends mixed media, photography, and illustration into an unfiltered portrait of snowboarding at its purest—stories of resilience, first-time debuts, and progression on some of the most breathtaking terrain on Earth, plus unreleased footage of Burton’s upcoming winter collection.
